Small Business Telephone System

Your Options For A Small Business Telephone System

When your business just starts, you only need to avail yourself of a small business telephone system. Though there are many systems for large companies that can connect thousands of phones, they may be of no use to you. If you are a small business that has fewer than 50 employees, then you are probably interested in smaller and simpler telephone systems, like a small business telephone system.

To employees and those calling in what type of small business telephone system you choose will not make much of a difference. If you find that you can't tell the difference between your small system and a large corporation's system then the telephone system has reached its aim. The only purpose of a telephone system is to allow multiple lines, multiple callers and other standard features on the same business telephone system.

A key system unit is a typical small business telephone system used by companies with less than 50 employees. This type of system is more advanced than ordinary phones but is not as sophisticated as an IP based corporation phone system that ties in all its branches. Callers who are in the office can make calls to other extensions in the office easily. If one caller is talking on the line, when another employee picks up the phone it will automatically connect to another line. The person who picks up the phone will not disturb the one who is already speaking on the line.

If you are in need of a very small business telephone system, with less than ten employees you may be able to make use of an even simpler system. You may be able to purchase a phone system that has numerous lines and simply plug it into the office and each employee can have a phone. This system is much simpler than a key system unit. A key system unit must be installed and wired by a professional technician. All phones need to be connected to the key system unit before they can be part of the small business telephone system. When only a phone with many lines is purchased, no professional installation is required. If you move office, simply unplug the phone and take it with you. This system although is simpler will be of no use to you if you plan on expanding your business.

When deciding what type of small business telephone system will work for you, you need to consider the size of your business and what the future holds for your business. If you plan to stay small, or the nature of your business does not allow you to expand very much, then you are probably interested in a simple phone system that you can purchase. With just a few employees, all can be connected to the same system. If your business has potential to expand then you will have to plan your small business telephone system with the future in mind. When you do this, even if you expand you will only need to add phones to the small business telephone system, rather than revamp the whole system.
